Memories of Tomorrow

SH_160422-0314

Children are like wildflowers in the sand, making memories beautiful.

Yesterday we had so much fun.
The joy my grandkids bring.
To have the laughter never end
With songs we love to sing.

Visit cut short I wanted longer,
So many seeds to sow.
Time consumes the love we shared,
Waning as they grow.

My hope is not in memory
Nor in a fading sorrow.
But in Jesus, Lord of all
He’ll make yesterday a foretaste of tomorrow.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

In memory of John B. a good friend, loving father and teacher

A Few Words Make All the Difference

SH-180527-2935

A few blossoms but so much to behold

You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows. Psalm 23:5

How can so few words have such a profound impact on my day? Because they are not my words but God’s word spoken over me…and you. If you let Him.

Standing Firm

Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 NLT

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” – Jesus, John 13:34-35 NIV

At the end of time how we have loved is what will count, what will remain.

And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. -Jesus, Matthew 24:10-13 NLT

Don’t let your love grow cold. Let the Word of God help you endure against the waves of hate.

Mighty Song

It is the flowers in the background that make this a beautiful photo

I was pushed back and about to fall,
but the Lord helped me.
The Lord is my strength and my song;
he has become my salvation.
Shouts of joy and victory
resound in the tents of the righteous:
“The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!
The Lord’s right hand is lifted high;
the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!” Psalm 118:13-16

In movies did you ever notice how important the music is playing in the background? With the right music the movie comes alive sweeping us along in its story. It is the same for our lives we need the right music playing to add depth and hope for living. God wants to be the music of our life, constantly singing His song in and through us.

Trusting in Jesus is the way we hear God’s music playing. No matter where you find yourself, the Lord’s right hand wants to do mighty things––to be the music behind our life.
