Mighty Song

It is the flowers in the background that make this a beautiful photo

I was pushed back and about to fall,
but the Lord helped me.
The Lord is my strength and my song;
he has become my salvation.
Shouts of joy and victory
resound in the tents of the righteous:
“The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!
The Lord’s right hand is lifted high;
the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!” Psalm 118:13-16

In movies did you ever notice how important the music is playing in the background? With the right music the movie comes alive sweeping us along in its story. It is the same for our lives we need the right music playing to add depth and hope for living. God wants to be the music of our life, constantly singing His song in and through us.

Trusting in Jesus is the way we hear God’s music playing. No matter where you find yourself, the Lord’s right hand wants to do mighty things––to be the music behind our life.

  1. Lovely photo, beautiful scripture to remind us of God’s love for mankind and proving it by sending His own son Jesus Christ…thank you!

  2. Thank you for this writing Steve. It is very appropriate today. The opening few words, “pushed back and about to fall”, are how I’m feeling today. The rest is a good reminder of God’s presence and help which i needed to be reminded of. Currently I’m living in chaos and with grief .Last week our home sustained quite a bit of water damage on all 3 levels due to a failed washer on a  water supply line to an upstairs toilet tank.And on top of that my mother unexpectedly passed away. She lived a long happy life. She was 95. Yet it was a surprise as she was in relatively good health and still living in her own home.  It was good of God to prompt you to write these thoughts so i could read them today.Connie

  3. I have always thanked the Lord for colors. They make our lives brilliant. I love the colors in your lovely photo. Would you believe yesterday I had a friend give me 47 of his older hymns on YouTube. I noticed your name on his Facebook. Wondering if you are friends, or if you know LeMoin Helmle? Wonderful Scriptures you choose today as well. You always brighten my day.
