Being What You Were Created to Be

What a wonder to see.

Turtles floating in the water,
Being all the turtle they can be.
Day after day they join the chorus.
A wondrous sight for me to see.
Turtles being turtles,
Floating out in the sea.

Oh Lord, help me to be,
All that You want to see done in me.
A wondrous sight for You to see.
Oh Lord, You living in me.

When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,… Psalm 8:3-4

…the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:26-27

Storms of Life

And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?”  And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” (Mark 4:39-41)

Sometimes in the midst of life’s storms, I forget who is in the boat with me. Thank you, Lord, that your power, sovereignty, and closeness are not dependent on my courage or understanding.
