A Vortex of Praise

When I find myself trapped in the vortex of worry—
The pandemic, climate change, an aging body.
I feel like life is going down the drain.
Then I remember God created me for this exact time in history.
He knew all my days when He formed me in the womb.
I know He loves me and has good things for me to do (Ephesians 2:10).
He is with me, so my heart takes courage and rejoices in the hope I have in Him.
His Holy Spirit guides me and will transform my anxiety to trusting in Him.
So that I might be able to test approve His will.
His good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:1-2).
In Jesus the vortex of worry becomes one of praise.

God’s Goodness for Me

So beautiful and good

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

In Jesus I have good works prepared by God for me to do… how wonderful is that knowledge.

Obviously the good is determined by God not me. Which is reassuring because I have a tendency to choose temporary earthly pleasures over eternal goodness and true joy.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

Yes, in Jesus my life will be good, pleasing and perfect, and He will never leave me to do otherwise.
