The difference in elevation between gray flat sunrise and this picture is no more than 100 feet (35 meters). You can see the tops of the pine trees below, they were in a thick fog. A few moments later the fog floated up and swallowed me. What a marvelous morning.
This can be applied to life in so many ways. Rather than make some lengthy discussion I will just quote a few verses and let you the reader ponder.
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.” (Lamentations 3:22-24)
The stone the builders rejected
has become the capstone;
the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes.
This is the day the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:22-24)
So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:16-17)
