The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. Isaiah 9:2

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. Isaiah 9:2

The Lord is near,
I can be gentle,
I can be kind.
The Lord is my Shepherd,
He knows my way,
I can rest in Him.
The Lord will never leave me,
night will not overcome,
nor fear drive Him away.
The Lord is near,
I can lie down in peace,
I can rise up in joy.
Rejoice in the Lord always;
again I will say, rejoice!
( Philippians 4:4-5; Psalm 23; Hebrews 13:5)

Warm sunshine
The gentle wind
Scent of pines
Crickets calling out
The first leaves of fall come tumbling down
A day shouting to God’s glory
His mercies are new every morning.
How can I not hear and join in the praise?

Without fear of the Lord our understanding of His love and forgiveness is diminished.
Without the clouds of fear our appreciation for His light and mercy is lessened
If You O Lord, kept track of our sins, O Lord who could stand? But with You there is forgiveness; therefore You are feared. Psalm 130:3-4

Though I don’t deserve it,
through His grace I can receive it.
Though my words can’t describe it,
through His Spirit I can walk in it.
I can make no promises about my future,
other than He will never leave me.
His love and goodness woven into my life… forever.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” Psalm 100:4

“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;
love and faithfulness go before you.
Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim (shout praise to) you,
who walk in the light of your presence, Lord.
They rejoice in your name all day long;
they celebrate your righteousness.” Psalm 89:14-16
Learning to acclaim Jesus allows me to walk in the light of His presence, and rejoice in His name all day long.
Jesus, my creator.
Jesus, my redeemer.
Jesus, my protector.
Jesus, my shepherd.
Jesus, my king.
Jesus, my counselor.
Jesus, my righteousness.
Jesus, my rock.
Jesus, my Alpha and Omega.
Jesus, my peace.
Jesus, my Lord forever.
Praise God!

Clouds blossoming in the blue sky.
Do they portend rain?
Or are they just dancing before the sun?
I don’t know, but it is joy to watch.
“The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.” Psalm 19:1-4

In the turmoil we encounter God invites us to be still before Him. This is a much needed gift for our current times.
God says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10
Do not be distraught if His peace is not immediate. This is a process that takes time. That is why Jesus spent a whole night praying, He knew what was coming.
Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Psalm 100:3
I invite you to meditate on the majesty of God and His promises. So that in time you can say with confident joy—it is well with my soul.
… He leadth me beside still waters, Psalm 23

Love never fails. 1 Cor. 13:8
“… put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with Him is full redemption.” Psalm 130:7
As we face uncertain times, put your hope in the Lord and His unfailing love.
Let those who fear the LORD say: “His love endures forever.” Psalm 118:4
No matter what trial you face, bow in awe before the Lord, for His love through Jesus Christ is unfailing, and will endure forever.

Have you ever thanked God for prayer? Think about it, the Creator of all, who is the Alpha and Omega, the King of kings and Lord of lords, invites us to commune with Him in prayer. It is beyond my ability to comprehend… yet this privilege is given to me. Sometimes I fail to show up… yet this privilege is not taken away. At times I pray with a wrong attitude… yet this privilege is God working in me, not to kick me to the side, but to bring me closer to His side. Thank you Lord for the gift of prayer.
