Dust devil over the wheat fields of Eastern Washington
Dust Devil: vertical vortex of wind, occurring on sunny days when warm air begins to rise.
This picture would be nothing without the dust exposing the whirlwind. The wind would still be swirling only invisible to our sight. Yet when it takes up the dust we see amazing things. It is the same with the Holy Spirit we do not see anything of Spirit’s presence until it picks us up. It can be scary, and we may not understand where the Spirit is taking us, but when we finally see the whole picture we are in awe.
“The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8)

Prayer is not about me reminding God, but about God reminding me.
reflection on an ugly rock
An ugly rock gains beauty as it reflects the heavens. So it is with us as we reflect our Lord’s glory. If you don’t believe me, please read 2 Corinthians 3:18.
Towering cliffs of Zion
When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained;
What is man that You take thought of him,
And the son of man that You care for him?
When I am in Zion National Park I feel so small, yet it is there I am struck by God’s amazing love for me.
Blooming orchards and Balsamroot in the foothills of the Cascades
The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
I have a goodly heritage.
It is Spring. The orchards and Balsamroot are blooming and I am blessed to be surrounded by all this beauty. What makes it even more thrilling is that the creator of all this, has given Himself to me, and I am His.
